Essential Functions
- Lead efforts in collaborating with district leaders and internal and external stakeholders to drive the development, establishment, and sustainability of high-performing, equitable, and inclusive programs.
- Lead the development, investigation, recommendation, and monitoring of programs, processes, and procedures to enhance the implementation of alternative programs, access and opportunity initiatives, and social justice strategies.
- Oversee the assessment and evaluation of existing programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, and alignment with access and opportunity goals. Act as a key liaison to close gaps in access and opportunity.
- Provide strategic leadership, coaching, training, and consultation to schools, divisions, and community organizations on cross-cultural competency.
- Champion the implementation of evidence-based, innovative best practices that promote sensitivity, access, and opportunity across diverse student populations.
- Lead the development of the district's strategic plan, policies, and initiatives centered around access and opportunity.
- Promote cultural proficiency and competency in addressing implicit bias, and advance best practices for supporting underserved and historically marginalized populations (e.g., racial, gender, LGBTQ , and disability status).
- Serve as a leader and coordinator, fostering key partnerships with higher education institutions, municipalities, and community organizations.
- Facilitate a common understanding and shared goals around access and opportunity to ensure alignment across local and regional entities.
- Lead efforts in grant writing, data collection, analysis, and reporting processes related to access and opportunity.
- Conduct district-wide access and opportunity audits as necessary and interpret data to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide actionable insights to guide current and future initiatives.
- Support the development and management of annual budgets, monitor requisitions, and assess spending to ensure resources are allocated effectively to advance access and opportunity goals.
- Lead the coordination, organization, and implementation of special projects related to access and opportunity.
- Demonstrate strong leadership in executing initiatives that create measurable impacts on the district's access and opportunity efforts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- A Master’s Degree in Education, Education Administration, school leadership, or a closely related area from a Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university is required.
- At least three (3) years previous supervisory and management experience with successful advancement through the teaching and/or school or district-level administrative hierarchy required.
- Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in educational leadership at level L-5, NL-5, PL-6 or above required. If a level L-5, NL-5, PL-6, or above certificate is not held, the individual must be eligible for the NPL certificate in educational leadership.
- Bilingual preferred.
