Title : Engineer I, Physical Security.
Provides district-wide support for the design, deployment, installation, and maintenance of physical security systems for the DeKalb County School District (DCSD).
Essential Functions :
- Configures, installs, administers, and troubleshoots physical security systems (commercial / enterprise-wide access control systems, IP CCTV systems, wireless networks, and intrusion detection systems) and provides remote and onsite hardware, software, and network support at all district facilities.
- Analyzes and troubleshoots network, hardware, and software issues related to physical security systems.
- Reviews physical security-related hardware and software requests from district committees, schools, departments, or organizations and assists with decision-making for related hardware and software purchases.
- Documents basic governance, policies, and technical solutions for main security technology systems.
- Assists with the design of preventative maintenance, upgrades, and end-of-life replacement routines for all security technology hardware and software.
- Discerns and communicates important metrics that demonstrate security value.
- Builds and maintains trusting and effective relationships with team members and district stakeholders as security integrators and partner technology providers.
- Completes and closes help desk work orders.
- Conducts training on technical products.
- Works flexible hours, as necessary, to provide ongoing support for the district's physical security infrastructure.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
