Under general supervision, provides technical support and training for network software and hardware to DeKalb employees and students.
Title : Specialist II, Network Liaison
Perform basic technical tasks to provide technical support and training for network software and hardware. Monitor software interfaces for copiers and printers, and oversee asset management and Google Console for Chromebooks. Handle add / move / change requests, resolve user incidents and support district-wide Chromebook users. Perform duties under moderate supervision as an intermediate-level individual contributor.
Essential Functions :
- Complete routine and sometimes more robust tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
- Interface with Lexmark software to handle ticket closure processes and provide first-level technical support for network, hardware, and software issues.
- Handle district Chromebooks by pushing and pulling applications, whitelisting and blacklisting websites, and providing specialized support for mobile devices via Mobile Device Management systems.
- Oversee lighting systems by monitoring light schedules, generating related reports, and conducting site visits to process moves, adds, and changes to systems as required.
- Troubleshoot and configure various network software applications as required.
- Maintain the SQL database, using the BMC IT service management tool for problem resolution history.
- Configure hardware for wireless network access and assist with mobile device connectivity issues within the wireless network framework.
- Collaborate with other departments to clarify information needs and ensure data accuracy in reports generated across various functions, including student account management.
- Lock / unlock systems as necessary.
- Follow established standard operating procedures and systems to accomplish tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
