About DeKALB Molded Plastics:
DeKALB is a custom structural foam molder with over 30 years of specializing in large, multi-nozzle plastic products. As one of the first ISO 9001:2008 certified structural plastics molder in the US, we offer in-house post mold painting, plastic decorating capabilities, kitting, and assembly requirements for programs ranging from single standalone products to complex, multi-component, multi-operation programs. With presses ranging in tonnage from 300 tons to 750 tons.
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager designs, plans and implements company programs and policies including staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations and training programs for all levels of staffing as well as assisting in the safety program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Live the DeKALB Core Values
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Perform the essential functions of the job within acceptable OSHA and safety/ environmental regulations, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, procedures and applicable work instructions
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and all state and federal laws and regulations
- Coordinate all aspects of Talent Management; including succession, retention and recruitment strategies to meet organizational goals and requirements
- Coordinate and direct performance management and development programs
- Administer wage, salary and benefit programs in accordance with group and corporate policies
- Actively participation in the development and delivery of the company’s strategic plan
- Facilitate positive employee relation activities including employee involvement and recognition programs in order to maintain a climate of trust and confidence
- Communicate with management on current employee issues and environment
- Communicate with manufacturing on strategic positive employee relations issues and cooperatively develop action plans
- Coach and counsel all employees on the company’s expectations, philosophy and values
- Ensures all pre-employment requirements such as interviews, drug tests, background checks, and reference checks are completed in a timely manner
- Provide and maintain effective new employee orientation programs
- Oversees worker’s compensation investigations, information and programs
- Member of the DeKALB Steering Team; help guide and direct the strategic direction of the company

Education/Experience:
- Must be able to work as a team
- Must be able to understand written/verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Business
- Minimum of 5 year’s experience in the Human Resources function
- PHR or SPHR preferred
- Excellent project and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Exhibits a high level of integrity, organizational and presentation skills
- Exceptional time management skills including the ability to effectively prioritize
- Ability to make decisions, show initiative and express independent judgment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong customer focus
Physical Abilities Required:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and climbing
