About DeKALB Molded Plastics:
DeKALB is a custom structural foam molder with over 30 years of specializing in large, multi-nozzle plastic products. As one of the first ISO 9001:2008 certified structural plastics molder in the US, we offer in-house post mold painting, plastic decorating capabilities, kitting, and assembly requirements for programs ranging from single standalone products to complex, multi-component, multi-operation programs. With presses ranging in tonnage from 300 tons to 750 tons.
Job Summary:
Responsible for developing and maintaining the company's business plan, overseeing and coordinating activities to achieve profitability. Implements and monitors management strategies to ensure the company effectively meets the needs of all key stakeholders, including customers and employees, while adhering to company policies.
Key Responsibilities:

- Perform the essential functions of the job within acceptable OSHA and safety/ environmental regulations, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, procedures and applicable work instructions
- Become knowledgeable of the Structural Plastics processes.
- Primary Focus: Plan, organize, and direct manufacturing operations, materials, and maintenance to maximize asset return.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
- 5S Leadership: Champion 5S principles and ensure full participation.
- Cost Optimization: Develop and implement plans that minimize manufacturing costs by effectively utilizing manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
- Production & Quality Standards: Ensure the attainment of production schedules while upholding high-quality standards.
- Coordination & Leadership: Review, analyze, plan, and lead all activities within manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Scheduling & Planning: Work closely with the Materials Manager to develop and execute manufacturing schedules.
- Strategic Support: Implement strategies and action plans that align manufacturing operations with the company’s broader strategic goals.
- Operational Improvements: Drive improvements in safety, quality, customer service, cost savings, housekeeping, and leadership.
- Product-Manufacturing Support: Address product-manufacturing issues impacting environmental, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Cost-Effective Operations: Develop and execute systems and programs that promote cost-effective manufacturing aligned with company objectives, ensuring reliable products with minimal quality control issues, repair, scrap, and warranty costs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the President and other management personnel to establish production and quality standards, set budgets, control costs, and ensure product delivery dates and specifications are met.
- Production Planning & Priorities: Direct production activities, prioritize product manufacturing in accordance with operational and cost efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate production with procurement, maintenance, and quality control teams to optimize human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Troubleshooting & Analysis: Analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to identify and resolve nonconformities and operational issues.
- Process Optimization: Develop and implement operating methods to eliminate problems and enhance product quality.
- Production Schedule Management: Revise production schedules and priorities in response to equipment failures or operational challenges.
- Data Management: Collect, store, and retrieve production data as needed.
- On-Time Delivery: Support and drive initiatives aimed at achieving 100% on-time delivery.
- Team Development: Cultivate a high-performing team that supports business growth and development.

Education/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering required - prefer MS/MA/MBA
· 6 yrs experience in heavy manufacturing environment, with machining and assembly required
· 6 years management experience in mfg. required
· Manufacturing knowledge
