JOB TITLE: Instructional Specialist
REPORTS TO: Principal
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
PAY GRADE: AI2
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Instructional Specialist is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the District’s instructional program and curriculum, including Blended Learning, remote teaching and Schoology in accordance with District goals, policies and procedures. The Instructional Specialist supports teachers in their efforts to prepare students to increase their academic performance to meet state standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
Preferred:
- Three years of experience of successful teaching

- Experience in coaching and teaching other teachers
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

MAJOR REPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Providing Professional Learning and Professional Development
- Model effective instructional strategies for classroom
- Coach teachers to develop their capacity to reflect upon practice, generate ideas and increase professional self-awareness.
- Provide professional development, instructional resources for effective tutorials and assist in developing a tutorial
- Promote an understanding of the grade level TEKS to administrators and teachers and have the ability to articulate how they are integrated within the
- Request Directors assistance in staff development, as
- Monitoring
- Monitor the academic progress of identified students following interventions based on assessment data and make recommendations for adjustments after formative assessments and/or reviews
- Assisting with Effective Interventions
- Assist administrators and teachers with the planning and implementation of effective instructional
- Testing and Data Assistance
- Use the district data software to disaggregate campus assessment
- Train teachers to use the data software to disaggregate testing
- Assist administrators and teachers in the use of data to identify students who need additional
- Communicating
- Maintain on-going communication with administrators, classroom teachers, and program
- Maintain on-going communication with the Curriculum and Instruction staff
- Maintain regular communication with campus administration about instructional needs, progress in interventions, teacher and student educational needs,

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position will also require both traveling within the district and statewide.
