What You'll Do
- Leadership & Management: Oversee production planning, staffing, and day-to-day operations, ensuring a motivated and high-performing team that embraces our core values.
- Production Monitoring: Keep a close eye on production orders and schedules to meet delivery dates and product specifications while maintaining a safe working environment.
- Operational Coordination: Prepare operational schedules and manage manufacturing activities, ensuring top-notch quality standards and adherence to safety protocols.
- Team Development: Collaborate with supervisors to solve problems, set goals, and streamline manufacturing processes and scheduling, fostering a culture of unity and accountability.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion ongoing improvements throughout the plant, ensuring safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity targets are met or exceeded.
- Fairness & Teamwork: Ensure fair treatment of all employees and foster cooperation with other departments to achieve plant goals, emphasizing a strong customer focus in all efforts.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare daily and weekly reports on production schedules, on-time deliveries, and quality levels, utilizing insights for continuous improvement while upholding integrity in all reporting.
- Quality Initiatives: Lead quality initiatives and work with your team to identify root causes and implement effective solutions, ensuring safety remains a priority.
- Proven ability to manage a diverse and multifaceted plant effectively.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with a focus on coaching and employee development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate your team.
- In-depth understanding of quality control policies, procedures, and SPC theory/application.
- Experience with continuous improvement and lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Solid grasp of manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering principles.
- Strong analytical skills and decision-making abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) for data analysis and reporting.
- Previous experience in budgeting and expense management.
- Knowledge of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
- Excellent organizational skills, adaptability, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- 5 years of progressive experience in a key leadership role within a manufacturing facility.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. (7-10 years of supervisory experience can substitute for a formal degree.)
- Injection Molding experience preferred
