Position Details
Reports to: Asset Management Supervisor
Job Grade: 7 ($24.17 - $29.52)
Classification: Hourly (Non-exempt) Full Time
Department: Maintenance
Schedule: M-F 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Delaware, OH; Olentangy Campus
Summary of Responsibilities
Responsible for delivery, storage, tracking, and re-ordering of inventory. Primary responsibilities are maintaining inventory stock and special-order items for Distribution, Meters, and Engineering functions.
Essential Duties
- Maintain cycle counts, spot checks and research any variances.
- Keep accurate inventory levels at multiple facilities and initiate procurement at minimum quantities or reorder points.
- Identify best vendors for inventory items, compare and negotiate pricing and establish delivery requirements.
- Assist Engineering by interpreting drawings, recommend alternative solutions, bid, purchase, and maintain inventory of materials.
- Develop and implement inventory control processes and maintain accurate records in Del-Co’s inventory management system.
- Unload, transfer, and tag deliveries as needed.
- Transport parts and materials to field crews.
- Clean and maintain equipment, tools and trucks as needed.
- Update Del-Co leadership on any new products that may be more efficient or cost effective, obsolete products, and product trends.
- Organize parts for specific projects.
- Maintain and coordinate documentation of issuing and receiving parts for work orders and contractor projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the job duties successfully.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Distribution license is highly desirable.
- Must be able to obtain certification to operate a forklift and related equipment.
- General knowledge of the water industry is preferred.
- Possess basic knowledge in the use of various hand tools and power tools.
- Experience using computer inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
