Controller

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management. This position requires a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with expertise in various accounting software, including QuickBooks. The Controller will be responsible for managing the financial health of the company and providing strategic insights to support decision-making.

Duties

• Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Manage the budgeting process and forecast future financial performance based on historical data and market trends.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely completion of all audit requirements.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Provide guidance on corporate accounting practices, including governmental accounting when applicable.
• Assist in the development of financial concepts that support business growth and operational efficiency.
• Lead a team of accounting professionals, providing training and mentorship to enhance their skills.

Requirements

• CPA designation is preferred.
• Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software is essential.
• Experience with payroll processing and related compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
