Job Description Summary
Teach five (5) courses per regular semester that could include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.
Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline of all welding processes with a strong emphasis on Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). Must have knowledge of Blue Prints and Layout and fabrication of Structural and Pipe. Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction. Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes. Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
A minimum of five years welding experience in multi-groove welds in the following process SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW.
Strong organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and the aptitudes to assist new and returning students achieve their educational goals and objectives
Ability to plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to insure course content and objectives are met.
Ability to utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students.
Valid/current credentials
Strong Computer skills

Associate in Applied Science in Welding Applied Technology AND five (5) years of documented work experience in the Welding field.
As well as five (5) years of welding experience in the GTAW/SMAW Pipe and Plate process and five (5) years of welding experience in the GMAW/FCAW Pipe and Plate process.

Eight (8) or more years of documented work experience in the Welding field.
As well as five (5) years of welding experience in the GTAW/SMAW Pipe and Plate process and five (5) years of welding experience in the GMAW/FCAW Pipe and Plate process.

Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) years of Pipe/Vessel Fabrication welding experience.
Successful college teaching experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
Experience teaching college level online courses and/or documented successful training in a college online learning management system (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas).

Maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning. Hold scheduled, posted virtual or physical office hours of at least one (1) hour daily and be available for and encourage conferences with students so there is a clearer understanding of the students’ work and the possibility of improvement. Assist in academic advising of declared majors. Assist with marketing programs and recruiting students.
