Responsibilities:

Del Monte Foods located in Plover Wisconsin is hiring a seasonal Sample Scout to work with our Field Department from June through September..

The purpose of this position is to scout fields for pests and diseases, check insect traps, conduct stand counts at crop emergence, sample crops to identify optimal harvest, collection and input of grower pesticide records, map fields using Croptrak, data entry for DMPS Lean knowledge and assisting with sustainability projects.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality with all information
• Must communicate in a professional manner and work cooperatively with others
• Experience with computers, specifically an understanding of Microsoft Office
• Ability to safely transport self to/from locations
• Potential for irregular work schedules/overtime due to harvest fluctuation
• Withstand repetitive walking demands both in and outdoors; to include uneven and varying texture, etc.
• Seldom, but may be required to bend, lift and carry weights up to 10-75 lbs.
• Capable of attaining a Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator Certification (cost provided by Del Monte)
• Capable of becoming forklift certified
• Able to use appropriate PPE, which is issued by Del Monte Foods
• Understand and comply EPA Workers Protection Standards
• Comply with all safety instructions and emergency action procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid Wisconsin drivers license
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Available to work from June 1 to mid-September (students are qualified)
• Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age
• • Capable of attaining a Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator Certification (cost provided by Del Monte Foods)
