What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic - Warehouse position at Del Monte Foods, Inc?
SUMMARY:
Repairs, install, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, with moderate supervision, by performing the following duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Observes mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
2) Dismantles devices and repairs or replaces defective parts.
3) Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers.
4) Basic welding and cutting skills.
5) Adjusts functional parts of machines.
6) Installs special functional and structural parts in devises.
7) Starts devices to test their performance.
8) Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
9) Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other tools to make and repair parts.
10) Ability to perform additional general tasks including, but not limited to, carpentry, welding, cement work, plumbing, sheet metal work, roofing, etc.
11) Must maintain a clean working area.
