Description
The Sr. Mortgage Loan Closing Coordinator is a key role in the preparation of mortgage loan closing documents and the funding of mortgage loans. The position will work closely with loan processors & loan originators to close loans within the allotted timeframe.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Review loan files with a focus to ensure that loan approvals meet loan program requirements prior to closing.
- Review all fees charged by the Credit Union for accuracy and work with title companies and other third party providers to balance closing fees in preparation of the Closing Disclosure.
- Prepare and deliver accurate closing disclosures in accordance with TRID delivery timeframes.
- Prepare closing document packages with accuracy.
- Ensure that all underwriting conditions for approval, closing and funding are met prior to milestone completion.
- Maintain and manage the mortgage closing calendar in collaboration with loan processors and loan officers.
- Review all closing docs for proper execution and prepare loan funding for both internal transfers and external wires.
- Onboard loans with accuracy to both the Servicing Platform and the internal credit union operating system.
- Prepare internal funding forms for accounting.
- Prepare and deliver mortgage loans for sale to investors and clear any investor stipulations to ensure a quick sale with no penalties.
- Develops and maintains effective pipeline management to meet processing turn times and transaction deadlines.
- Closes an average of 35-45 loans per month.
- Mentors and trains other mortgage loan personnel on closing related functions. Reports to manager on performance measures and discusses opportunities for process improvements. Motivate junior mortgage loan personnel in conjunction or in the absence of the manager.
- Run Automated Compliance Testing and inform and manager of any failures.
- Makes suggestions on potential lending opportunities, including loan programs and pricing issues, to assist the credit union in improving its lending activities and to increase its loan portfolio.
- Participation in the weekly pipeline meeting with a focus on scheduling closings and discussing potential problems or delays with current files in process.
- Maintains a high level of customer service by being proactive and communicating effectively with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, external and internal members.
- Obtains and maintains thorough product knowledge with respect to the Credit Union and Secondary marketing guidelines and compliance regulations. This includes, however, is not limited to Program Guidelines, Loan Policy, Fair Lending, Reg B (ECOA), Reg C (HMDA), Reg Z (TIL), Reg X and RESPA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the USA Patriot Act.N0%Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Salary:
The salary range for this position is $26.93 - $33.66 an hour. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a rate between the range minimum and the range maximum, depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
Work Location:
Midtown branch located in Santa Fe, NM.
Requirements
Experience:
Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Eligibility for NMLS licensing is required.
Education:
(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
