Job Title : Senior Director of Engineering

Classification : Exempt full-time

Reports to : SVP of Supply Chain and Operations.

PURPOSE

The Senior Director of Engineering is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing standards and procedures for food production engineering work throughout all Del Real facilities.

DUTIES

Plans and leads a team of subordinate engineers in the installation and testing of machinery for sustainment of current and future production processes, equipment, and facilities growth within Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards.

Manages capital expenditure budgeting.

Executes projects.

Maintains property records, permits and facilities master plans for maintenance (structural integrity) and improvements.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

5 years' of progressive experience in the food production industry : leading a team of subordinate engineers in plant operations design of liquid and powder blending processes; and streamlining projects, including : automation integration; preparing budgets for manufacturing based on equipment needs, labor, safety and regulatory requirements, and scope of work; and ensuring that plants meet Safe Quality Foods (SQF) food safety standard in order to meet the GFSI standards.

Bachelor's degree [foreign degree equivalent accepted] in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

Standing : Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Walking : Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.

Pushing : Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

Pulling : Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Lifting : Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

Grasping : Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Feeling : Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

Talking : Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.

Hearing : Noisy environment.

Vision : Close work.

Repetitive motions : Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and / or fingers.

Sedentary Work : Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary Work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Light Work : Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and / or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Oils : There is air and / or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.

Humidity : Exposure to humid conditions ranging from 70 to 92 percents.

Respirator : Use is required.

None : No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
