Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide quality care to patients, perform clerical and receptionist duties under the direction of a RN, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Del Sol Medical Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• 1. Demonstrates knowledge and application of basic patient care, to include activities of daily living, vital signs and intake and output.
• 2. Completes and performs secretarial tasks, such as, Order Entry, filing and organizing patient charts.
• 3. Practices, endorses and provides customer service skills to patients, visitors physicians and staff.
• 4. Demonstrates an understanding of patient charts, physician orders and nursing orders.
• 5. Organizes and communicates patient care activities to the patient and to the Registered Nurse.
• 6. Maintains the unit in optimal operating condition by ordering supplies, cleaning general workstations and stocking supplies.
• 7. Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)

• High school diploma or equivalent.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: (list required and preferred separately)

• BCLS certified required. Certification must be kept current.
• CNA or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)

PREFERRED

• Some acute care healthcare experience

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

PREFERRED

• Reads and writes basic English.
• Knowledge of body substance isolation.
• Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, and customer needs.
• Bilingual – English/Spanish.
