Primary Purpose:
Oversee and ensure effective and efficient implementation of all district-wide visual and performing arts programs through collaborative work with campus fine arts department chairs and elementary fine arts teachers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certification
Master’s degree from an accredited university with a major in assigned subject or closely related field preferred
Administrator or mid-management certification
Valid Texas Teacher certification preferred or 3 years’ experience in a related position
Candidate must have a satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable (fee approximately $50.00) paid by the employee

- Project/program management or grant coordination experience preferred

Instructional Management:
The administrator promotes improvement of instruction through activities such as the following:
- Supervise curriculum development and instructional delivery
- Supervises district fine arts department chairs and elementary fine arts teachers through instructional and program management needs
- Works collaboratively with administrators and teachers for instructional improvement, program continuity, and coordinate alignment of district and campus calendars.
- Assists in planning and implementing effective staff development and training for District employees.
- Provides materials and other resources to fine arts teachers.
- Provides instructional management assistance in content and methodology to teachers.
- Participates in and serves as a resource for fine arts curriculum planning.

Organization Improvement:

- Conduct weekly campus walkthroughs and use data for program improvement

Communication and Community Relations:

- Serve as primary communication link with principals and school staff

- Provide instruction in form of policy and regulations interpretation and technical assistance to staff through discussion and written memoranda

Personnel Relations/Management

- Hire, train, manage, evaluate fine arts department chairs and elementary fine arts teachers in conjunction with campus leadership
- Assist fine arts department chairs and elementary fine arts teachers by making recommendations for campus staffing needs to administration
- Establish basic responsibilities among staff for organized workflow and problem solving, adjusting as necessary
- Train and supervise fine arts department chairs and elementary fine arts teachers in development of classes and activities to meet campus and community needs
Organization Management
The director manages administrative, fiscal, and facilities functions responsibly through activities such as the following:
- Supervise fine arts department chairs and elementary fine arts teachers development, implementation, and evaluation
- Oversight and supervision of fine arts department chairs and elementary fine arts teachers
- Assist with fine arts budgets
- Approve appropriate expenditure requests (purchase requisitions including vendor agency contracts, supplies, transportation, etc.)
- Supervise preparation of necessary reports, processing of payroll, preparation of financial information, tracking attendance, ordering supplies, and record keeping through various data collection systems.
- Assure that fine arts department chairs and elementary fine arts teachers and staff are following District, Federal, State, County and City guidelines
- Review data reports weekly, monthly and provide updates to administration
- Oversee program calendars
- Organize timelines for projects
- Negotiate contracts and Memoranda of Understanding with vendors Develop, assess, amend, and update Standard Operating Processes and procedures
- Align program goals with community/district/campus goals

- Participate in professional organizations and take the initiative to develop needed professional skills appropriate to job assignment.
