DeLallo is seeking a full-time, on-site Graphic Artist
Job Description:
The graphic artist works in a creative and production role for the art department to conceptualize, design and produce of a variety of projects from sales support materials, marketing collateral, tradeshow collateral, packaging design, and beyond. This role works in a group environment where they will have the support of the graphics department supervisor to assign daily production tasks and report to the Director of Marketing for labels, signage, POS and presentations for the George DeLallo Company. As a designer, you’ll work with sales, purchasing and marketing teams.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM: weekends as needed
Essential Functions:
- Development, design, layout, and production of graphic materials in a timely fashion.
- Materials to create include Sales presentation books, consumer ads, trade ads, product label design, sales presentations, retail store signage, catalogs, promotional flyers, product mock-ups, and photo correction.
- Contribute to the daily production tasks of the department as well as the larger scale projects of label development and creation of new marketing materials.
- Take a project from ideation to completion, which includes preparing files for print and proofing.
- Communicate daily with the art department supervisor for production tasks.
- Work directly with the Marketing Director to set priorities and timelines for all marketing projects.
- Work with the Marketing Director to gather the message and visual direction/scope on projects
Required Skills:
- Strong MAC based computer skills, full knowledge of Adobe CS (Illustrator, Bridge, Photoshop, InDesign)
- and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills
- Keen sense of layout, typography and a working knowledge of print.
- Ability to multi-task
- Proactive and creative
- Great attention to detail
- Resourceful and hard working
- Retail product packaging design, and brand advertising.
- Ability to work independently or cross-functionally in a team environment
- Ability to work on multiple projects while maintaining project schedules.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and have a good driving record
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphics arts /design
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and package design
- Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe applications .
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Experience with retail design is a plus
