Delamar Mystic- NEW stunning waterfront luxury boutique hotel with views of the Mystic River is looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to join their team! Delamar’s Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all guest rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and organization. The supervisor leads, trains, and supports housekeeping staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment while ensuring guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend the daily opening of the Housekeeping office as per the rotation, preparing the day’s responsibilities including room assignments for room attendants, supervisors, and housemen.
- Assist in the issuing of control keys, pagers, and room assignments to all relevant housekeeping staff.
- Assign duties of special attention as directed from the Executive Housekeeper or Executive Office.
- Ensure room cleaning or preparation of arriving VIP assignments, collect and distribute any approved amenities adhering to established hotel standards and procedures.
- Identify and report all “Turn-Ups,” Vacant, and/or Out-of-Service rooms promptly each morning, reporting any discrepancies directly to the Front Office Manager.
- Ensure that all storage rooms and closets are regularly cleaned and kept tidy at all times.
- Ensure that overnight housekeeping duties have been completed adhering to established hotel standards and procedures.
- Inspect thoroughly assigned floors, rooms, corridors, and stairways, ensuring that the highest standards are consistently met.
- Ensure that any sub-standard inspection is rectified immediately.
- Ensure that assigned room credits were completed satisfactorily by signing daily worksheets at the end of each shift.
- Ensure that daily records are kept and archived for all room assignments, room status, and any supervisors’ reports.
- Ensure proper departmental communication by recording any and all relevant information in a Daily Housekeeping Log Book.
- Prepare daily handover for afternoon and evening service shift.
- Maintain stores and carry out stock inventory checks as required by the Executive Housekeeper.
- Ensure the correct use of cleaning agents on all surfaces to prevent spoilage, damage, and waste.
- Assist with the periodic cleaning of areas as requested, including the servicing and turndown of rooms to ensure that guests’ needs are met.
- Report any maintenance faults on assigned areas, following up, and taking further action if required.
- Handle guest requests and inquiries in an efficient and friendly manner.
- Document any lost property immediately and store it securely in the housekeeping office.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); hospitality or management certification (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience (required); 1 year in a supervisory role (preferred).
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Work schedules include weekends, holidays, and shifts as needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
