What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Driver position at Delaney Chevrolet Inc?
Monday- Friday 9:00 AM -2:00 PM
PRIMANRY FUNCTION: The Parts Driver is responsible for picking up and delivering parts and equipment to customers, wholesale accounts, and vendors. This includes automotive parts, components, and products within the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/DUTIES:
- Checks with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, or parts counter people before leaving to coordinate any last-minute pick-ups or deliveries.
- Checks with the body shop each day to determine immediate parts needs.
- Ensure that the invoice corresponds to the purchase order for each pick-up.
- Keeps an accurate and up-to-date log of the daily deliveries and pick-ups.
- Empties the truck every evening. Returns all documents and undelivered parts.
- Looks after the basic maintenance of the truck, including filling the gasoline tank, checking the oil and ensuring that the vehicle is clean; makes sure that the prescribed inspections of the truck are carried out.
- Advises parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance. Keep the department and work area orderly, neat, and clean.
- Helps maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
- Helps with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
- Maintains professional appearance.
- Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a customer-oriented, self-motivated team player.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must have a valid driver's license. with a clean driving record.
- Communication and organization skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
