Delaney Radiology is seeking an Insurance Specialist with expertise in Medicaid denial follow-up.
The Insurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that radiologic services are billed accurately and in accordance with insurance guidelines. This role involves following up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid Medicaid claims.
Candidates are required to report to the office for the initial training period, but the position has the potential to become remote once training is completed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews and resolutions for patient accounts.
- Refile and correct claims to ensure timely resolutions.
- Contact insurance payers about unpaid claims.
- Assess remaining account balances after insurance payments.
- Analyze insurance denials and determine follow-up actions.
- Document ongoing issues with insurance payers.
- Verify patient eligibility using online systems.
- Write and submit appeals when necessary.
- Respond to inquiries from patients and insurance companies.
- Ensure compliance with contracted insurance policies.
- Perform additional assigned duties as needed.
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing is required, with a preference for experience in Radiology.
- Experience with Imagine Software is highly preferred.
- The ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume billing office.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, medical terminology, and medical insurance required.
- Must possess strong communication skills, empathy, and patience
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential, along with a commitment to confidentiality.
