What are the responsibilities and job description for the Refund Analyst position at Delaney Radiology?
Are you looking for a new opportunity in the medical field? Delaney Radiology is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Refund Analyst to join our team.
The Refund Analyst is responsible for evaluating refund requests and determining whether refunds need to be issued to patients, their representatives, or insurance companies. This is a full-time, in-office position.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate credit balances on patient accounts.
- Generate and manage a weekly credit balance report.
- Research and make appropriate adjustments or refunds to accounts, issuing insurance refunds with proper documentation and approval.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of contracted insurance policies and fee schedules.
- Keep management informed of problematic trends and errors.
- Accurately post insurance payments, adjustments, credit card transactions, ERS, and patient payments to individual patient accounts, ensuring that the correct amounts are applied
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Proven experience and knowledge of medical insurance is required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and medical terminology.
- One year of customer service experience, preferably in a medical or radiology setting
- Must possess strong communication skills, empathy, and patience
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential, along with a commitment to confidentiality.
