The Controller will oversee all financial and accounting operations within the dealership. This role is critical in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organization. The Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining internal controls. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the automotive industry!
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting - Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with dealership guidelines and manufacturer requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting - Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts. Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to support decision-making.
- Internal Controls - Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Accounts Management - Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
- Compliance - Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings and audits. Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and standards.
- Cash Management - Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure the financial stability of the dealership. Make recommendations for the profitable use of excess cash.
- Team Leadership - Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Financial Systems - Manage and optimize the dealership's financial systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- 7 years of experience in a similar role within the automotive industry is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under pressure. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Work Schedule: This role is full-time and will require working on-site at the dealership located in Beaverton, OR. There may be occasional evening and weekend work as needed to fulfill job duties.
