Overview
We are seeking a Firmware Engineer with experience in data-center servers, machine learning accelerators, or high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, HBM, and Ethernet. The ideal candidate will contribute to firmware design, implementation, and performance optimization, and will be skilled in debugging both firmware and hardware across simulation, emulation, and silicon environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop firmware for machine learning accelerator systems and high-speed interface subsystems (e.g., PCIe, HBM, Ethernet).
- Collaborate with hardware and system architects to optimize system performance through hardware-software co-design.
- Work closely with hardware engineers to understand architecture, specifications, and develop validation tests for silicon bring-up.
- Debug and validate both machine learning accelerator blocks (e.g., systolic arrays) and high-speed interfaces in simulation, emulation, and silicon environments.
- Optimize the performance and efficiency of custom machine learning accelerators and high-speed interfaces.
- Propose features and performance improvements for future silicon and firmware generations.
- 5 years of firmware development experience for RTOS embedded systems.
- Proficiency in C/C programming for embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with ARM/ARC/Xtensa/RISC-V architectures.
- Familiarity with high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe, HBM, Ethernet) or machine learning accelerators.
- Experience with hardware validation and debugging tools (e.g., OpenOCD, Segger, Lauterbach).
- Proficiency in using electronics lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers).
- Experience with the production silicon lifecycle from design to validation.
- Ability to work in simulation, emulation, and silicon environments for testing and debugging.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms (e.g., transformers, CNNs).
- Experience with SystemVerilog for hardware debugging and waveform analysis.
- Experience with Python for scripting and automation tasks.
- Knowledge of build systems like Bazel/Blaze/Buck.
- Experience with OCP/OAM/DTMF/Security standards.
