What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Facilities Attendant position at Delasalle High School?
Purpose of Position: The Facilities Attendant position is responsible for assisting guests with the execution of their events as well as maintaining a cleanly facility both before and after each event including, various school events, sporting events, performances, assemblies, and other special gatherings. An attendant will provide support with setup, breakdown, crowd management, cleaning, and ensuring an overall smooth operation of events.

Representative Responsibilities:
1. Event Setup & Breakdown:
- Assist in setting up chairs, tables, stages, and other equipment before events.
- Ensure all necessary equipment is ready to go and properly functioning.
- Take down and store all equipment, furniture, and supplies after events.
2. Crowd Control & Guest Assistance:
- Direct and assist attendees to ensure proper flow throughout campus.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and event areas to ensure safety and compliance with school policies and procedures.
- Address inquiries from event guests, providing clear information about events, locations, and services.
3. Facility Management:
- Assist in ensuring all event spaces are clean, organized, and prepared for use.
- Sweep and mop floors as necessary to maintain a neat and tidy appearance throughout the facilities.
- Empty trash bins, replace liners, and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
- Dust and wipe down all surfaces to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Mop floors and clean toilets as necessary after events to ensure a clean environment.
- Monitor the conditions of the events and report any major maintenance or safety concerns to the Director of Facilities.
4. Event Support:
- Be available to provide logistical support during events.
- Collaborate and communicate with other staff to ensure that events run smoothly and safely.
5. Equipment Maintenance:
- Keep all maintenance tools and equipment in good working order.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be available for weekends and nights.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proven experience in maintenance, janitorial work, or related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic cleaning procedures and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Good communication skills and a friendly attitude toward students, staff, and visitors.
- Willingness to undergo a background check.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance software use.
