The Banquet Chef will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and execution of large-scale banquet events, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all banquet kitchen operations, ensuring staff understand their roles and responsibilities for large-scale events.
- Train, mentor and develop kitchen staff, fostering skill growth and career advancement, while maintaining high culinary standards.
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, and ensuring adherence to safety, hygiene, and grooming standards for banquet functions.
- Ensure consistent food quality and presentation across all banquet events, meeting guest expectations and resort standards.
- Monitor food freshness, conduct quality control inspections, and promptly address any issues to maintain food integrity.
- Manage food and labor costs, minimizing waste, and oversee inventory control for banquet specific supplies.
- Mentor culinary externs and students, supporting future industry talent development.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other departments to plan, execute, and communicate updates for upcoming events and functions.
- Enforce safety and cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen, leading by example.
- Supervise the proper maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment and work areas.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Culinary degree or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience, with at least 3-4 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in banquet and event cooking, preferably in a resort or hotel setting.
- Knowledge of food trends, safety regulations, and culinary techniques.
- Food Manager Certification required or must be obtained within 6 months.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, hands to feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Occasionally one will need to climb, kneel and/or crawl and balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The position is indoors and outdoors; and is exposed to hot, humid and/or cold conditions at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. This staff member will work in a high traffic/high volume business environment and will be required to spend most of their time standing/walking.
