Delaware Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement (DATE) provides a competitive compensation package that includes:
- Salary: $58,535 upon completing the academy.
- Lateral Salary: $84,921
- Healthcare: Comprehensive medical and dental insurance coverage.

- Overtime Opportunities: Additional earnings through overtime work.
- 10 Hour Shift Schedule: Day shift: 8 AM - 6 PM. Evening/night shift: 3 PM - 1 AM. 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM.
- Modified day shift ending at 10 PM for Marijuana Enforcement Unit
- Retirement Plan: Retirement benefits via the State Employees Pension for Correction and Specified Peace Officers.
- Union Membership: Officers are part of the Teamsters Local 326.

Essential Qualifications for DATE Candidates
Prospective applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship: All candidates must be U.S. citizens.
- Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Driver’s License: Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
- Education: Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Written Exam and Oral Interview: Applicant shall be required to obtain a passing score on any pre-employment written examination and on any pre-employment oral interview.
- Fingerprinting: Applicant shall submit to a pre-employment fingerprinting for a search of federal, state and local databases for disclosure of any criminal records.
