Title: Sports Medicine Instructor, EFCTS - New Albany & Gahanna Satellite Locations
Position Type: High School Teaching
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful applicants must have a valid Ohio AT (Athletic Trainer) License and at least five recent years of experience in the sports medicine and athletic training field (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist preferred), and be able to secure license as a career/technical instructor; if applicant has a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred), a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in that career field will be required. Teaching experience in Sports Medicine preferred. Applicant should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work with business/industry and post-secondary institutions required. Must successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Prepare lesson plans and provide instruction in junior and senior labs/classrooms that prepare students for a career in the sports medicine field. Job responsibilities include providing opportunities for prospective students to explore this career path. Teacher must also coordinate all aspects of the program with an advisory committee. Lab instruction also includes promotion of student involvement in Career Technical Student Organizations. Teacher must also assist students in work-based learning experiences and future employment opportunities in cooperation with local sports medicine facilities.
Salary:
Placement on the Certificated/Licensed Teacher salary schedule.
