What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Manager position at Delaware County Intermediate Unit?
The job of Information Technology Manager is to provide supervisory technical support to the IU programs and projects in Delaware County. This position provides network, hardware, software technical support and services to include network design and installations, and management of Service Desk personnel. The position is cross trained with the Network Systems Administrator position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Under guidance of the Chief Information Technology Officer, oversees development, evaluation,and coordination of the IT systems for DCIU programs and services in Delaware County.
- Assist with administering and maintaining of the Network infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain continuous improvement of the service desk operations.
- Responsible for evaluation of system security, network integrity, and back up procedures for thepurpose of ensuring that no system is compromised.
- Responsible for development and implementation of solutions to meet objectives for operations,maintenance, and enhancement of the IT systems and a plan for continuous improvement of the service levels.
- Responsible for availability and performance of the enterprise (e.g. operating systems; firewall;VolP; content filtering, spam filtering; layer 2 & 3 core switches; routers; Wireless controllers / AP; routine maintenance programs, etc)
- Provides technical leadership and support to Network Systems Administrator including but notlimited to assistance with day-to-day operations and providing the evaluation.
- Attends assigned meetings for maintaining communication with stakeholders, discussingtechnical issues and identifying work performed.
- Oversee timely and appropriate equipment changes (e.g. switches and devices; installingsoftware; changing configurations or the physical network; creating sub, stand alone, or parallel networks, etc.) for the purpose of fulfilling service requests.
- Assists with solving complex problems using rigorous analysis and drawing information from awide breadth of sources.
- Support and manage the integration of technology in classrooms, ensuring devices, educationaltools, and software are effectively deployed and maintained to enhance teaching and learning.
- Assist with leading IT-related projects (e.g., network upgrades, software implementations),collaborating with organizational leaders to ensure technology initiatives align with the organization's strategic goals.
- Maintains service levels to customers as per negotiated SLAs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements :
Education Required : Associate degree with study in job-related area. Bachelor's degree in job-related area is preferred.
Certification Requirements : Network preferred, A preferred, Security preferred
Experience Required : A minimum of three (3) years experience in IT management or related field. Three (3) or more years of related, full-time, paid work experience, preferably in K-12 vertical.
