What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessionals position at Delaware County Intermediate Unit?
The DCIU has immediate needs for Paraprofessionals located across all of our programs.
The job of Paraprofessional was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care and instruction of special needs students in the regular classroom or in a self-contained classroom; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior during nonclassroom time; providing information to appropriate school personnel; and attending IEP meetings.
Minimum requirements:
- High school Diploma or Equivalent
- Must acquire status as a Highly Qualified Paraprofessional
- Participation, successful completion, and passing required professional development events, in-services, and trainings
- Experience with children
- Flexible and reliable
- Ability to work effectively and regularly with a computer
- Must have adequate verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to function under the direction of the teacher
- Possess good judgment
- Ability to establish rapport with students
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with program staff
- Reliable means of transportation
The Paraprofessional positions are 10-month positions.
Salary : $22,001 - $23,326
