Objectives
Incumbent is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Court’s SAP/Community Service Programs for youths who have been suspended from school and/or have been ordered to complete community service or pay restitution. Incumbent reports to the Chief Probation Officer.
This position assists youth with completing their community service or school suspension hours by securing placement at various community non-profit sites. Additionally, this position provides support to the youth's designated community control partners by providing regular updates, supervising youth completing service hours, tracking hours, site placements/reassignments, and managing the case until community service hours are completed.

Job Standards
Associate's Degree in social work or related field is required plus a minimum of five (5) years experience with troubled/at-risk youth. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and a clean driving record. Work involves following standardized procedures to compete assigned duties.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates Community Service Programs, Suspension Alternative Program (SAP), Restitution Work Program (RWP) and individual community service;
- Facilitates the development of new community-based locations for work sites;
- Keeps records of hours and statistics for partner agencies;
- Tracks community service program hours;
- Informs Probation/Intake Officers of program attendance;
- Maintains positive working relationship with juveniles and families of diverse cultural, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds;
- Assists Probation/Intake Officers in locating appropriate community service sites for youth;
- Informs school personnel and probation staff of pertinent information regarding students or programs;
- Enforces use of necessary safety equipment, e.g. orange vests, gloves, signs, etc., while on service programs;
- Ensures that vehicles and equipment are maintained;
- Procures vehicle and supplies daily for use;
- Coordinates between the Court and community partners;
- Reinforces rules, maintains structure and encourages teamwork while at job site;
- Provides transportation for juvenile participants to and from work sites and assures each youth has properly signed release forms;
- Supervises and instructs youths as they participate in a variety of service projects; and
- Records, maintains and updates statistics for grant reporting to funding agencies and for other grant opportunities.
