As a Park Planner, you'll assist our Sr. Park Planner in directing and coordinating the planning, design, and construction of the District’s parks, trails, greenways, and facilities.

- Diverse Projects: Engage in a variety of projects, from master planning to hands-on construction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
- Possess or actively pursuing licensure in the State of Ohio for Landscape Architect, Architect, or Professional Engineer.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably with park and recreation projects.
- Assist in designing and preparing master plans, sketch plans, feasibility studies, and management plans for park sites and development projects.
- Conduct site analysis to gather data on topographical features, vegetation, soils, drainage paths, and man-made structures.
- Write and administer grants for park improvement and land acquisition projects.
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for development projects, ensuring ADA compliance.
- Create landscape planting plans for park entrances, picnic areas, nature centers, and more.
- Represent the Park District at public events and project meetings.
- Collaborate with consulting firms and assist with in-house construction projects.
- Prepare contract bid advertisements and conduct pre-bid meetings, bid openings, and project meetings.
- Monitor and supervise construction projects to ensure conformance to plans and specifications.
- Operate AutoCAD and maintain and grow PPDC’s Geographic Information System (GIS) capabilities.
- Maintain project files and documents and perform related administrative duties.
- Assist with PPDC events, programs, initiatives, and activities.
