Job Position: Community Outreach and Communications Coordinator

Hours: 35 hours per week; generally, 8:30 – 4:30 Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend events
Summary
The Community Outreach and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for managing press releases, overseeing communication strategies, establishing media relations, and implementing public relations activities for the Register of Wills office. .
Essential Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Chief Deputy, the Coordinator:
● Assists with the development and implementation of a calendar of public events to help expand the reach of the Register of Wills office, and the services we provide.
● Takes ownership of all social media platforms to support event promotion and build public awareness of the variety of services offered by the Register of Wills office.
● Collaborates with Delaware County Government Departments and Agencies to ensure that the Register of Wills is represented at County events
● Assists with the coordination and implementation of outreach activities with the Municipalities and Boroughs of Delaware County
● Participates as part of a team at “pop up” events at venues large and small, such as community centers, country clubs, public parks, and senior centers
● Create and distribute press releases
● Provides the Register with scheduling, event, communications and administrative support
● Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Related experience creating content and interacting with the media is a plus. The ability to demonstrate enthusiasm for working with adults and seniors in a paid or volunteer setting is preferred. Must be a strong communicator, both with the team and with patrons, ability to work in a team environment on a wide range of projects. Excellent organizational and time management skills. MS Office and Canva experience is required. Valid PA driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, lift 25lbs to a height of up to 30 inches, carry 25lbs for up to 300 feet, drive a vehicle, talk and hear. Occasionally, the employee will reach or work with arms above shoulder height, bend at the waist while working; kneel, stoop, crouch or squat.
