Summary
We are seeking a motivated Laborer to join our team at the transfer stations in Chester, PA and Broomall, PA. This position plays a vital role in supporting our operations by performing various physical tasks that contribute to the effective management of waste services.
Job Summary:
Performs a variety of tasks under the supervision of management to ensure the facility is maintained, clear of litter, and roadways are clear and safe. This role also assists with extra workloads, covers absences and vacations.

· Maintain cleanliness of all facility buildings and grounds.
· Keep all buildings and facility structures cleaned on a continual basis.
· Monitor supplies and notify appropriate person for restocking.
· Keep access roads and grounds free of litter and debris.
· Support a culture of safety by performing all responsibilities in accordance with safety policies and procedures and take a proactive approach to ensure a safe working environment for employees and customers.
· Perform all work in compliance with environmental policies and regulations.
· Maintain excellent customer service and present a positive image to all DCSWA employees, customers, vendors and partners.
· Be available to assist in other capacities: as qualified and assigned, to maintain the facility operation as directed by the Transfer Station Supervisor.
Education, Training or Certification:
· High School Diploma or acceptable equivalent
· Valid PA Driver’s License
Technical Competencies:
· Fluently speak, read, and write English.
· Basic math, reading, and writing comprehension.
· Basic computer skills and understanding of standard office machines (faxes, copiers, etc.).
· Hear and communicate accurately and courteously via telephone, and in person.
· Work alone, self-directed, and with good judgment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
· Employees in this position normally perform work in a variety of environments, ranging from indoor climate controlled to unpredictable outdoor weather conditions.
· Work may involve exposure to heights, high levels of noise and dust, and strong trash odors.
· Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Equipment Used:
· Two-way radio, telephone
· Brooms, shovels
· Safety Equipment and PPE
· Hand tools (manual & power)
· Lawn and ground machinery & equipment, blower (leaf and snow)
Work Hours:
Day shift, 40 hours per week, but those hours may vary depending on workload, and special projects.

Pay: $17.10 - $21.00 per hour
