A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LOSS CONTROL/ASSET PROTECTION SPECIALIST
At Delaware Electric Cooperative (DEC), the Loss Control / Asset Specialist is responsible for safeguarding assets and promoting a culture of safety. Key responsibilities include investigating incidents, recovering associated costs, ensuring regulatory compliance, developing safety programs, providing employee training, and collaborating with departments to identify and address safety risks.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LOSS CONTROL/ASSET PROTECTION SPECIALIST
Education: Associate's degree related to the field of safety, investigation techniques, loss control, or equivalent experience will be accepted.
Experience: Three to four years prior experience in investigatory techniques, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills with a diverse demographic with a focus on program development, documentation, and reporting. Experience in the safety and/or security fields implementing safety/security policies and procedures.
Knowledge: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Attendance at seminars, conferences, safety meetings, training, and Members' Annual Meeting as requested or assigned.
Cross train other personnel as needed.
Extra hours may be necessary during emergencies or when workloads demand.
Valid First Aid and CPR training/cards.
Must be able to report/respond to work when needed
