What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Coordinator position at Delaware Elevator?

Essential Functions:
Working closely with the Safety Manager, you will:
- Support safety and training initiatives across Corporate, Field, and Manufacturing teams.
- Set and promote safety standards that comply with legal requirements for construction, general industry, and manufacturing.
- Assist in delivering engaging training to workers, ensuring understanding of critical safety procedures.
- Help maintain occupational health and safety records (OSHA logs, prequalifications, AHA’s, audits, customized reports for GCs, etc.).
- Maintain safety databases and assist in developing site-specific safety plans.
- Support the Safety Recognition Program and safety orientations for Construction, Field, IDEC, Drivers, Warehouse, and more.
- Conduct work-related investigations, providing detailed reports with corrective actions.
- Plan and conduct weekly jobsite visits, coordinating with Service/Construction Managers to maximize site coverage.
- Travel (including multiple overnight stays) across Florida to visit various job sites.
- Assist in compiling and maintaining safety visit records and master file documentation.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in a safety role within construction/industrial environments.
- Certifications: OSHA 510 Certification (preferred).
- Language Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).
- Travel: Willing and able to travel frequently throughout Florida.
- Driving Record: Clean driving history and ability to pass pre-employment screening.
Skills & Abilities:
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet navigation) — training provided for in-house programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, flexible, and self-motivated.
- Bilingual preferred - ability to speak/ understand and read English & Spanish
