Delaware Express, a leading limo and coach bus company in Newark, DE, is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Assistant Manager of Dispatch Operations to join our team. As a Assistant Manager of Dispatch Operations, you will be responsible for efficiently coordinating our transportation services, ensuring prompt and reliable pick-ups and drop-offs for our valued customers.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Receive customer transportation requests via phone, email, or online booking systems.
- Schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles to meet customer demands and optimize service efficiency.
- Monitor real-time vehicle routes and driver progress to ensure on-time arrivals and departures.
- Communicate instructions and updates to drivers, addressing any changes or issues as they arise.
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and accommodating special requests.
- Maintain accurate records of all assignments, including driver logs, trip reports, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and team members to improve scheduling and operational processes.
- Assist in dispatching emergency services or support as needed.
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Report operational issues, delays, or incidents promptly to the Operations Manager.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a dispatcher in the transportation or logistics industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with dispatching software and GPS tracking systems.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of local traffic patterns and geography.
