Hourly Wage: $15.00

Summary: The Guest Experience Associate assists with the day-to-day operations of the Guest Experience Department, including the daily operation of the front desk, museum store, and the museum’s Rest, Relax, Recharge Café.

Essential Functions:

  • Uphold the highest quality of the guest experience through equitable, respectful interactions that meet the unique needs of each guest and team member.
  • Be conversant in the Museum’s mission, exhibits, collections, programs, and guest experience service philosophy and practices to enhance the guest experience.
  • Greet and/or orient museum guests, process admissions, drive membership, assist with gift store sales, and assist with any other customer service initiatives.
  • Process daily attendance numbers including general admission, programs, events, and rentals.
  • Follow appropriate cash handling procedures.
  • Assist with reception responsibilities including informing team members of guests and their appointments, directing calls to pertinent team members, and providing callers with museum-related information.
  • Assist Guest Experience team members by periodically moving through all public areas to ensure quality guest experience and safety.
  • In the absence of senior Guest Experience team members, contact emergency services and/or complete incident reports in the event of guest or team member injury or illness.
  • Assist with facility rentals as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of point-of-sale systems.
  • Knowledge of or interest in science and/or museums.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to related to difference age groups and educational levels.
  • First aid, CPR, and AED certified, or willingness to become certified.

Schedule: This position is a part-time position of no more than 20 hours per week. The schedule will vary to accommodate departmental staffing needs and will be determined in collaboration with the Guest Experience and Public Engagement departments. Some evenings and weekends are required.
