The opportunity
Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time Sanitation Assistant to join our team at Grand Canyon National Park in Grand Canyon, Arizona.
As a Sanitation Assistant, you will be responsible for performing custodial duties such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, restocking paper and soap supplies and keeping the property neat, clean, and free from clutter.

What will you do?
- Sweep and clean facilities including bathrooms, carpets, walls, windows, break rooms, offices and all other duties as assigned
- Pressure wash concrete surfaces to remove dirt and chewing gum, etc.
- Stock closets and replenish paper products in the restrooms
- Respond to guest inquiries providing accurate courteous information
- Follow safety and environmental business practices and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
More about you
- No experience required, previous commercial cleaning and/or guest service experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of various cleaning utensils, dryers, vacuum cleaners, tools and fixtures.
- Ability to work quickly under pressure, follow directions.
- Ability to make simple addition and subtraction calculations.
Physical requirements
- Requires ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Frequent walking and standing for entire length of shift, climbing of stairs.
- Bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, grasping and carrying items.
- Use of hands to operate cleaning equipment and complete scrubbing/washing.
- Exposure to chemicals and solvents used to clean and sanitize.
