Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Systems Management & Administration :
Manage and maintain CAI or IPT systems, web-based training tools (GTIMS Admin, Learning Management Systems), and other software platforms necessary for student pilot training.
Troubleshoot, administer, and provide ongoing support for operating systems, servers, and applications across CAI or IPT labs.Perform routine system maintenance, including backups, data archiving, and software patching for CAI or IPT systems.Oversee and maintain network peripherals, workstations, servers, and operating system / application software for both CAI or IPT systems, ensuring high availability and functionality.Cybersecurity & Compliance :Work with the host base Cybersecurity / Information Assurance Manager to obtain the required certifications and training for FSA duties.
Ensure compliance with DoD, AFI, and IT security protocols for CAI or IPT systems.Conduct regular system security monitoring and report breaches as required by AFI 33-138 and local policies.User Support & Training :Ensure that all users (students and staff) receive proper system training for CAI or IPT systems and have access to the necessary IT resources for their training.
Manage user permissions, assign user IDs, and maintain security protocols in accordance with AFI 33-200 and AFMAN 33-223 for CAI or IPT systems.Provide troubleshooting support for student workstations and common office automation software used in the CAI or IPT training environments.System & Equipment Configuration :Install and configure all program equipment, peripherals, and client-level software for CAI or IPT labs, ensuring proper integration into the training network.
Maintain operational manuals and ensure all software configurations are current and fully operational.Provide application assistance for office automation tools and wireless devices used within the CAI or IPT environments.Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting :Continuously monitor the efficiency of CAI or IPT systems to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Serve as the primary system troubleshooter for any issues related to CAI or IPT systems, including hardware and software malfunctions.Reporting & Coordination :Provide regular status reports regarding system performance, troubleshooting efforts, and any issues affecting CAI or IPT systems to the IT management team.
Coordinate with other agencies and stakeholders to resolve support issues and ensure system requirements are met for CAI or IPT systems.Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or relative experience in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or a combination of education and experience.Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT system administration, preferably within a DoD environment.DoD Directive 8570 Information Assurance Technical Level-II certification (required).Experience with Windows servers (Active Directory, NTFS, GPO, Exchange, SQL), Ethernet protocols, VLANs, and network troubleshooting.Proficiency in managing enterprise-level storage technologies (SAN, NAS, etc.).Familiarity with military protocols and customs.Security Responsibilities
Security certification required (or equivalent).Additional certifications such as MSCE, MCP, CCNA, CISSP are beneficial.Work Environment and Physical Demands
Ability to detect and respond to issues within the training environment, including sound detection (e.g., simulator and system errors).Occasional domestic and international travel as required.Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to technical labs and simulation systems in CAI or IPT environmentThis contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
