Description
The Scheduler provides personnel to accomplish scheduling and resource management functions at LRAFB. Schedulers perform their duties at the Center of Excellence and the Loadmaster Building. Schedulers are responsible for providing schedules for Instructors and Students in compliance with the applicable syllabi, Instructor qualifications and certifications and Simulator certifications schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Translate and enter syllabus data received from Instructional System Developers (ISD) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for input into GTIMS.
- Manipulate and process syllabus data into information that will be used in the Formal Training Unit (FTU) for scheduling, reports, and gradebook functions.
- Create and maintain model events for the administration of the syllabus for all courses offered at the FTU.
- Import and maintain Course Training Standards (CTS) and Maneuver Information File (MIF) tables as written and provided by ISD SMEs.
- Perform tests and quality checks on data entry activities for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with Resource Managers, ISD, CORs, and GTIMS Sustainment contractor personnel to plan, implement, and revise syllabi in GTIMS system as necessary.
- Provide GTIMS support to C-130 ATS personnel when issues arise.
- Apply, remove, adjust, and maintain GTIMS user permissions and instructor certifications.
- Create GTIMS user profiles.
- The creation of a weekly Aircrew Training Device (ATD) schedule which shall incorporate all training requirements for all WST, SNS, CPT, FUT and VTRAT devices, IAW proper syllabus administration pertaining to the current and planned Programmed Flight Training (PFT).
- Assign the appropriate Instructor and/or PCM and student to each syllabi lesson to ensure all student requirements are met, tracked and executed. Each scheduler shall be cross-trained and able to support multiple crew positions to facilitate effective and efficient scheduling of all Instructor, PCM and student personnel.
- Scheduling of instructors for RT events and Government Use Time (GUT) shall be accomplished and input into the weekly published Schedule as required
- Facilitate Instructor currency spreadsheets and upcoming Instructor evaluations, Functional Check Flights (FCF)s, Initial Conditions (IC)s updates and scheduling of tours. Schedulers shall monitor, track and schedule evaluations and/or check rides of Instructors.
- Create a weekly schedule for each crew position to be input into Graduate Training Integration Management System (GTIMS) to track known events
- Input the schedules into GTIMS generated by each respective crew position’s Scheduler. Schedulers and/or TCs will make adjustments to schedules as necessary prior to schedule release
- Attend a weekly meeting with the ATS FTU Manager and a maintenance (MX) representative when feasible.
- Attend a weekly GAT meeting the week before the release of the schedule and provide the 189th Maintenance Group the required GAT use for C-130 ATS.
- Review (scrub) the weekly schedule for accuracy and to de-conflict the schedule before release and will make appropriate schedule changes. The Schedulers shall notify the site manager, instructors, and support personnel associated with instruction by e-mail that the schedule is final and executed. Schedulers shall post a master WST, AMP, SNS, VTRAT and CPT schedule for the following week and a FUT/GAT on a centralized scheduling board and mark up the posted schedules when changes occur.

- Strong, proven verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the aviation scheduling environment
- Able to establish and administer suspense actions, manual and computerized file systems
- Basic MS Office suite skills

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams.
Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.
Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills
Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
