Basic Purpose of Position :
Under the direction of a supervisor at the DRPA, this position will assist in general ledger review and financial statement reporting in line with GAAP and in compliance with internal and external regulations and policies. Core responsibilities include gathering financial documentation for audit requests, inputting data in excel and various software platforms, and creating ad hoc reports for management, internal departments, the Board, banks, and government agencies, with the goal of enhancing transparency and accountability in financial transactions. Additionally, the role supports the continuous improvement of financial processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
On occasion, assist with the analysis, reconciliation, forecasting and reporting of budget vs actuals, E-ZPass traffic and revenue, and other analyses involving electronic toll activity, including collections, violations, statistical reports and analyses for checks and balances with other agencies, customer service centers and internal DRPA departments.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
DESCRIPTION OF TASK
Review general ledger account activity of balance sheet and P&L discrepancies.
Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end closing processes, including amortizing prepaids, invoice accruals and adjusting entries. Provide support for internal and external audits.
Post daily BAI files, reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Assist in the preparation of SOPs, financial statements (CAFR & Governor’s report) and reports; providing insights and analysis as needed.
Prepare financial analysis for pending contracts for engineering and contracts administration. Update revenue, ECR and investment schedules.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, collaborating with various departments to gather and input relevant financial data.
Coordinate collaboration with Revenue Reporting on collector DNR’s, credits, and Digital Video Audit System reviews. Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
Evaluate DRPA E-Z Pass Violation images that have been rejected by NJ E-Z Pass back-office using the Image Re-Review Software
Maintain schedules for toll analysis, revenue forecasting and E-Z Pass in transit.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned to support all functions in the Finance Division.

EDUCATION / TRAINING
Required :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Associates degree OR Certificate in Accounting / Finance OR 2 or more years of experience working in an accounting / finance department for a mid-sized company.
- 0-1 years’ experience using accounting software.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to GAAP.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Have an intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically, Word for preparing memos, letters, reports etc., Excel for creating tables, formatting data and using basic formulas , and PowerPoint.
Desired :
Minimum of a year’s experience using ERP accounting software to make journal entries, payments, receivables and or run reports.
