Position Purpose
Under the supervision of the Manager, ERP & Applications, the SAP BASIS (Business Application Software Integrated solution) Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our enterprise SAP systems in a Red Hat Linux / HANA / Sybase ASE environment. He/she must have advanced experience with core SAP ECC modules, BI/BW, business objects, Linux operating systems, SAP HANA database or higher and a proven track record of implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for installation and maintenance of SAP based systems, including application installations, upgrades and coordinating system backups with hosting provider
- Implement SAP Support Packs, and kernel upgrades
- Complete system refreshes and client copies
- Manage HANA databases through SAP HANA Studio
- Support for all phases of testing (system test, performance test, user acceptance, simulated cutover)
- Support during technical cutovers and code promotion at end of each project release.
- Work closely with the user base to evaluate performance and impact to production systems
- Ensures safety and privacy of business data and systems
- Work on projects related to this discipline, including creation of project plans and proposals
- Root Cause Analysis and Incident Response Guidance:
- Available during system outages on a 7x24 basis to consult on best and most expedient approach for immediate resolution
- Collect and analyze post-mortem failure to prevent issue recurrence
- Develop procedures to prevent outages
- Design and specify system monitoring techniques to provide proactive protection against incidents
- Prepares, maintains, and implements detailed information system project plans, which identify tasks, schedules, required staff, computer resources and deliverables.
- Identifies database requirements by analyzing department applications, programming, and operations.
- Evaluates existing systems and designs proposed systems.
- Design and update software that runs the computer.
- Solves computer problems and enable computer technology to meet individual needs of the organization.
- Diagnose problems, recommend solutions, and determine if the program requirements have been met.
- Performs systems analysis and design activities resulting in user-oriented system specifications.
- Prepares technical system specifications and codes and test computer systems.
- Develops and maintains common databases for access by Authority users.
- Conducts feasibility studies regarding proposed systems development including the definition of user requirements, the identification and evaluation of alternative system approaches to meet user needs, and the presentation of a recommended solution and justification.
- Identify current and emerging technologies, including hardware, software, and database management.
- Manages and directs other user support specialists.

Skills/knowledge/Abilities
- Installation and planning of SAP landscapes in a Linux environment
- SAP implementation/support experience on any Virtualized environment
- Experience in analyzing and tuning performance issues
- Experience resolving ABAP short dumps and update errors
- Hands on experience with CCMS monitoring and reporting
- Advanced knowledge/experience with the SAP Change and Transport system
- Hands on experience in upgrades to Enhancement Packs on NetWeaver ABAP & Java stack systems, Suite on HANA systems, and S/4HANA systems.
- Hands on experience with SAP HANA Studio
- Hands on experience with client copies
- Familiarity with SAP BI and Business Objects systems
- Basic knowledge of how SAP integrates with other systems through SAP Process Integration (PI)
- Establishing and maintaining storage management and disaster recovery planning
- Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager functionality and tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills, a self-starting attitude and good communication skills
- Good documentation and grammatical skills including drafting, editing, and maintaining technical documentation
- Must be service oriented and reliable, providing consistent follow-through

Education and/or Experience
Preferred:
- Hands on experience installing Linux OS on virtualized systems
- Intermediate knowledge of network systems and data communications
- Upgrade experience from previous SAP releases to latest NetWeaver/HANA versions
- Database administrator experience with any database, HANA and/or Sybase ASE preferred
- Experience in technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
