What are the responsibilities and job description for the Natural Resources Technician 1 - Delaware State Park position at Delaware State Park?
This position is involved with keeping Delaware State Park a safe, enjoyable space for our visitors to enjoy the outdoors.
On this team, you will perform a variety of unskilled general labor, preventative maintenance and/or repair functions of the facilities, grounds, and equipment. You will also assist fellow staff with semi-skilled general labor & maintenance functions.
Maintains public facilities & grounds; by cleaning, perform routine landscaping and maintenance of facilities, such as mowing, care of equipment; applies chemicals under license of commercial applicator or limited commercial applicator.
Operate machine tools & equipment in the unskilled & semi-skilled equipment list; Perform minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing repairs & maintenance; paints signs & buildings; performs minor unskilled mechanical maintenance & repairs on equipment & vehicles; monitors &/or observes facilities, grounds & equipment for safety &/or maintenance needs & takes appropriate action; performs unskilled conservation work (e.g., removes invasive plants; plants trees, shrubs, crops; digs trenches, &/or assists higher level staff with semi-skilled functions (e.g., minor troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of HVAC; transports staff, equipment & supplies throughout assigned work areas.
May work in extreme weather conditions.
