General Description of the Position
Under the Dean's supervision, the person is responsible for the overall efficient and effective management of the Office of the Dean. This includes supervision of other office personnel, all College Administrative personnel, and the budget.
Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining efficient office procedures.
- Maintain and monitor all assigned budgets. Assist as needed with college departmental budgets where necessary.
- Input Dean's Office requisitions and assist with departmental grants and requisitions.
- Oversee development and monitoring of departmental and grant budgets.
- Meet with Business and Finance as necessary regarding departmental budgets.
- Access student information needed to resolve problems.
- Collect data; prepare rough and final drafts of reports; and gather and submit information for media press releases, newsletters, and brochures.
- Execute secretarial duties.
- Assist in arranging travel, appointments, and conferences for the Dean.
- Composition and / or editing of correspondence and reports.
- Meet and answer inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and external constituents.
- Supervision of staff in Dean's office.
- Building maintenance liaison.
- Assist with CHESS web pages.
- Assist with faculty workload preparations.
- Compliance - Ensure that the College remains compliant with university policies and procedures. Compliance duties include keeping accurate records and documentation.
- Resource person to staff, faculty and chairpersons regarding DSU policies.
- Assist the University Band Director and the Director of Chorale Activities in the management of their operations and their budgets.
- Responsible for all administrative and financial matters related to the Theater minor;
- Other duties as assigned by Dean and / or Associate / and or Assistant Dean
