General Description of the Position
Duties are performed independently under general supervision. This position is responsible for the data entry and processing of transcripts and applications related to the graduate and undergraduate admissions.
Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Essential Functions
The following are the functions essential to performing this job :
- Respond to inquiries related to admissions, recruitment, & scholarships and take appropriate action as required.
Accurately track inquiry, working on application, submitted apps and unconfirmed students to ensure that admissions targets are met.
Ensures the reliability, integrity, and validity of data from prospective applicants by determining if application information is correct and deciding which operational processes to perform
Coordinates the gathering and processing of all inquiries generated through telephone requests, written inquiry, and outreach activities such as University fairs, advertising, and referral programs and maintains an accurate prospect database.
Maintains contact with customers and solicits feedback for improved services.
Performs monthly internal audits on applicant files to ensure any / all documentation is accounted for.
Responsible for taking corrective action to ensure and maintain future compliance of Standard Operating Procedures for the Office of Admission, Recruitment, and Scholarships.
Assist with front counter support, when needed, for the Office of Admissions.
Workflow processing functions, including the application intake process.
Evaluates, recommends, and maintains documentation of departmental processes to guarantee correct student record data utilized by multiple campus offices
Ability to work under time pressures with frequent interruptions, maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and courtesy.
Provides additional support to front end processes (Applications, Test scores, and transcripts sent via mail).
Monitor webpage content weekly to ensure accurate information is available to prospective students and the community at large.
Coordinates scheduling of campus tours, information sessions, and execution of recruitment and yield events. Responsible for preparing welcome packets for daily visits
Serve as a liaison between students, management, employees, and security for risk management purposes and best practices compliance.
Take the initiative and works both independently and as a team member.
Participate and assist with Fall, Spring, & Summer Open House.
Provides reports and spreadsheets to the Office Manager
Performs other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Advanced experience in Microsoft Office (particularly excel, word, access)
Must have good time-management and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to multi-task, follow through on assigned projects and work in a fast-paced environment as a team member.
Qualification Standards
Successful experience : At least six months of successful work experience in college admissions, secondary school guidance, teaching or advising in a college / university setting
Possess effective speaking and presentation skills, sound judgment and a tolerance for occasionally working long hours.
Must have enthusiasm for working with high school and college students and representing Delaware State University.
Possess the ability to handle individual projects and meet quotas by deadline, as well as work well as part of a team.
Must be able to sit and type for extended periods of time, as well as stand for filing and / or document imaging.
