General Description of the Position
Delaware State University is accepting applications for a full-time head women's wrestling coach. This position is responsible for the operation of the women’s wrestling program within the rules and regulations of the Delaware State University, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and the NCAA. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of the women’s wrestling program, and have the experience, knowledge, and demonstrated ability to lead the historic launch of the first-ever Division I women's wrestling program at a HBCU.
Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Essential Functions
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
- Successfully recruit, retain, develop, and graduate high-performing women’s wrestling student-athletes
- Preparation, organization, design, and implementation of effective practice plans, off-season programs, scouting reports and recruiting systems.
- Effective and timely budget management, equipment oversight, and travel planning.
- Effective community engagement, donor, and public relations
- Consistent compliance with NCAA, MEAC, and DSU policies, rules, and regulations
- Excellent communication, organizational teaching, public relations, interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills.
- Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or sport administrator.

Qualification Standards
- A minimum of one-year coaching experience, or equivalent experience competing with national teams and/or at the international level.
- Expertise in the technical and teaching aspects of coaching wrestling.
- Demonstrated proficiency in successfully recruiting, retaining, and graduating high-performing women’s wrestling student-athletes.
