General Description of the Position
The Department of Biological Sciences at Delaware State University seeks applications for a 9-month Assistant Professor. A Ph.D. in Biology (specifically neurophysiology and / or neuroanatomy) with post-doctoral experience, is required. The successful candidate will primarily teach Principles of Physiology, Human Anatomy, and / or Developmental Biology. Preference is given to candidates with experience working with a diverse student population, including prior teaching experience. The successful candidate is encouraged to engage in Neuroscience research (as course load and schedule permits).

The successful candidate will be expected to :
- Teach Principles of Physiology, Human Anatomy, and / or Developmental Biology. Class size and course assignment will vary based on university needs. Engage in research and scholarship (e.g., mentor student research, build research portfolio) as schedule and workload permits.
- Complete departmental and university requirements as expected (e.g., meeting attendance, office hours, professional development trainings, collection of assessment data, grade submission)
- Design, develop and courses that engage student learning and facilitate academic success, and employ current techniques and teaching tools that maintain an invigorating learning environment with measurable learning goals.
- Contribute to and engage in service to the department, college, and profession.

Qualification Standards
Ph.D. degree in neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, or related field. Post doctoral experience required. Preference given to those with experience at a minority serving institution and / or working with underrepresented minorities.
