Full Job Description
- The Estimator will gather, evaluate, and then prepare detailed total cost information for cost-effectiveness for and during the construction bid process. They may visit construction sites to gather information and analyze proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to understand the project. Estimators work closely with project managers to coordinate and oversee the vendors and/or subcontractors in the bid process. They determine the time, labor, materials, and product costs for the project and communicate the requirements to the client. An estimator works mainly in an office environment but may visit construction sites occasionally as needed to obtain necessary information.
Responsibilities:
- Read and understand plans in various stages of design from schematic and budgetary plans to detailed take-off and pricing of 100% plans for private, public and commercial projects.
- Prepare and complete estimates that include material, labor and equipment.
- Ability to vet our vendors and subcontractors.
- Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location and other factors to ensure a high quality and timely estimate.

- Good work ethic, attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously using good time management skills.
- Reviews project plans, scope of work, and specifications to identify risk issues and determine whether or not to bid the project.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Civil engineering, or Project management
- Must possess the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively
- Keen sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work, and a strong commitment to corporate goals.
- Project Management Experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret project documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to customers, vendors, subcontractors, and employees.
- Ability to give effective and persuasive presentations on Proposals and/or Projects to Customers, Subcontractors and Vendors.
- Minimum of 5 years construction experience
- Salary will be based on experience and will be discussed at the interview.
