Delaware Valley School District is seeking Special Education Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year.

The qualified applicant will render diagnostic, prescriptive and education services designed within a student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to serve students having one or more disabilities; assist in writing the IEP for identified students; provide appropriate modification to curriculum; and provide instructional support as outlined in the IEP.

Qualifications

  • Certification / License : Pennsylvania Special Education Pk-12 or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

  • Develops and administers diagnostic, prescriptive and education services designed within a student's Individualize Education Plan (IEP)
  • Provides appropriate modifications to curriculum
  • Assist in writing IEP for identified students
  • Knowledge in all subjects.
  • Provide instructional support as outlined in the IEP
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
  • Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
  • Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
  • Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
  • Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
  • Use standard office equipment such as a computer, printer, copier and telephone.

  • Experience :

    Successful prior teaching experiences in Special Education preferred.

    An Act 34 Criminal History Clearance Report, an Act 151 Child Abuse History Clearance Report, and a FBI Fingerprint Clearance Report, succesful completion of a pre-employment drug screening are necessary, along with all other required employment forms. The salary and benefits are in accordance with the current Professional Association Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement.
