Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Reporting directly to Chair of the Biology Department, this faculty member will:
- Teach the first and second of sequential courses in Biology for majors and non-majors
- Assist with recruitment of students
- Advise students majoring in Biology as needed
- Post and maintain regular office hours
- Serve on faculty committees as assigned or via election
- Participate in professional development activities
- Attend regularly scheduled faculty meetings, department meetings, and other required meetings
- Assist with departmental needs and development including curriculum planning and outcomes assessment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ph.D. in Biology, or related discipline (preferred)
- At least one year’s experience teaching Biology at the undergraduate level
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring
- Commitment to ongoing faculty development and scholarship
- Evidence of successful scholarship
- Experience with online delivery of courses is beneficial
